A: There are no abortion clinics in Boone.

Q: How much does an abortion cost?
A: The cost of an abortion procedure is based on how far along you are in your pregnancy. A general price for an early abortion is around $350 - $600.

Q: How can I tell how far along I am in my pregnancy?
A: Dating for your pregnancy begins on the first day of your last menstrual period. If you are unsure of that date, then ultrasound technology is used to determine the gestational age of the baby.

Q: I took three home pregnancy tests and they were all “positive.” Does this mean I am pregnant?
A: Home pregnancy tests are generally very accurate if administered correctly. We can provide a free lab-quality pregnancy test for you to take. Ultimately, a limited obstetric
ultrasound will confirm whether or not you have a viable intra-uterine pregnancy.

Q: What is a limited obstetric ultrasound?
A: Our nurses administer limited obstetric ultrasounds on women who are at least six weeks pregnant based on the first day of their last menstrual period. The ultrasound will confirm the presence of a heartbeat, whether or not the pregnancy is located in the uterus, and the gestational age of the baby.

Q: What if I don’t know the first day I my last menstrual cycle?
A: We will offer you a urine based pregnancy test. If it comes up “positive,” then one of our nurses will offer you a free limited obstetric ultrasound.
